Guidelines for Residential Service

For our residential customers, the following table shows the guidelines** for recyclables collected every other week.

RECYCLING GUIDELINES**

MATERIAL PREPARATION
Glass Clear, amber and green glass from beverage bottle and food jars Window glass, light bulbs, crystal, glass tumblers, ceramics, mirrors, ovenware Rinse bottles and jars, remove & discard lids, do not break glass (labels may be left on)
Aluminum, steel and bi-metal cans Aluminum, steel, bi-metal food and beverage cans Aluminum siding, toys, lawn furniture, foil trays, paint cans Rinse cans (crush to save space), push remaining lids down inside can or discard in garbage
Plastics (PET, HDPE)

Stamped #1 or #2 on bottom
Clear, plastic soda bottles, milk and water jugs, liquid detergent, bleach and softener bottles Cooking oil, motor oil, window cleaner, butter or whipped topping tubs, antifreeze, pump top or spray bottles, polystyrene, pesticide or herbicide bottles Rinse, remove and discard lids (crush to save space)
Newsprint & Magazines Newspapers and magazines Phonebooks and catalogs Place in grocery bags (paper or plastic) and DO NOT TIE

** These recycling guidelines are for all areas EXCEPT: Cranberry Twp, Allegheny Twp, Fawn Twp, Marion Twp and Beaver County - Franklin Twp. If you live in one of these areas, please see your specific residential guidelines for information about your recycling program.
